“All Possess Alike Liberty of Conscience:” Guarding Our Heritage of Religious Freedom

In partnership with the American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA), the School of Civic Leadership at UT Austin is hosting “All Possess Alike Liberty of Conscience:” Guarding Our Heritage of Religious Freedom on Sept 24, 2026. This event will offer an important conversation about religious liberty and its place within America’s constitutional heritage.

The evening will feature a keynote address by Vincent Phillip Muñoz, Tocqueville Professor of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame, and will celebrate the work of ACTA’s National Commission on American History and Civic Education and the launch of A Broadside for the Nation, a new report calling on colleges and universities to require undergraduate coursework in American history or governance.
