Cynthia Ma
Postdoctoral Fellow
Cynthia Shihui Ma is a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Civic Leadership. Her research focuses on conceptions of statesmanship in ancient Greek and Chinese thought. Her dissertation examines the nature of political knowledge in Plato’s Statesman. In 2023, she received the Emerging Scholar Award from the Ancient Philosophy Society. Her article, “The Philosopher’s Eros in the Myth of the Reversed Cosmos,” is published in Epochē. She received a B.A. in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Philosophy from Tulane University.
