Jeremy Friedman, a historian, studies socialism, communism, and revolution in Russia, China, Iran, and the Global South.

He is currently a professor of strategy and statecraft at the School of Civic Leadership, where he focuses on international history, grand strategy and the global Cold War. He is also a faculty fellow at the Clements Center for National Security, both at the University of Texas at Austin. Before joining UT Austin, he was an associate professor in the Business, Government, and International Economy Unit at Harvard Business School, and previously served as associate director of the Brady-Johnson Program in Grand Strategy at Yale University.

Professor Friedman has been widely published in academic publications as well as in the popular press, including in Foreign Affairs and Foreign Policy.
