Patrick C. Oxford Professor

Jonathan W. White is the Patrick C. Oxford Professor in the School of Civic Leadership at the University of Texas at Austin. A leading scholar of Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War, he is the author or editor of twenty-two books on those subjects. His honors include the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia’s Outstanding Faculty Award, the Abraham Lincoln Institute Book Prize, the University of Maryland Alumni Excellence Award in Research, the Jack Miller Center’s Teaching Excellence Award, and the Penn State History Department’s Outstanding Alumni Award.
