Charity-Joy Acchiardo

Charity-Joy Acchiardo is associate professor of instruction in the Department of Economics. She is faculty lead for UT’s OnRampsmicroeconomics course for high school students, a joint project of the Civitas Institute and the Department of Economics. Her work centers on economics education and on making economics more engaging and accessible for students and teachers.
She is an economic educator fellow at the Fraser Institute and has served as executive director of the Journal of Economics Teaching. She also created econkahoots.com and econshark.com, two websites dedicated to making the economics classroom more engaging. A frequent speaker at workshops for educators and students, she is passionate about sharing the joy of economics with others.
