Patricio A. Fernandez

Patricio A. Fernandez is associate professor of philosophy in the College of Liberal Arts. Previously, he taught at the University of California, Santa Barbara, was a fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, and held a Humboldt research fellowship at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He has published in ancient philosophy, action theory, ethics, and the economic analysis of law. His research focuses on ancient and contemporary approaches to practical reasoning, human action, and the normative standards that apply to them. He received his Ph.D. in philosophy and economics from Harvard University.
