Evan Coulter

Postdoctoral Fellow

Evan Coulter is postdoctoral fellow at the School of Civic Leadership at the University of Texas at Austin. His research focuses on ancient philosophy, especially ancient Greek theories of the soul. He teaches widely in the history of philosophy, including courses on ancient philosophy, the history and philosophy of science, and the place of science and technology in civic life. 

His work has appeared in Ancient Philosophy. His book project, Aristotle’s De Anima: Psychology and the Standard of Precision, explains why Aristotle places psychology among the most precise sciences. His honors include the Freie Universität Exchange Fellowship and the Tulane University Award for Excellence in the Teaching of Philosophy.
