Join the School of Civic Leadership for “Mosul Eye" with Omar Mohammed. A historian by training, Dr. Mohammed was living in Mosul, Iraq when ISIS captured the city in June 2014. Despite the risk, Dr. Mohammed began to anonymously document his experiences on the blog Mosul Eye. For years, Mosul Eye provided one of the few glimpses into daily life in ISIS-occupied Mosul, providing valuable intelligence to U.S. government and military officials. Dr. Mohammed will share his experiences living under ISIS, his decision to provide witness to the terror of ISIS and the suffering of Mosul under great threat to his own life, and the importance of preserving truth and justice in the face of destruction.
